This is Ai. Not nearly as snarky as when I first got him, but I still havent handled him other than to get some stuck shed off. One week later BAM he goes into shed. *chuckles* Im keeping humidity bumped in hopes that this helps it all come off in one shed.

It don't quite look like a jungle to me.... but then again, i dont know too much about the carpet python family.

here is my carpet I once had, looks nothing like yours...

if you google the irian jaya, you can see some similarities, but you can see some simularities in the carpets as well... Hes not quite looking like a jungle to me, but I can't tell you anythong for sure. You may want to ask someone who really works with them, they may be able to help you better.

Well, whatever he is, he supposedly is being picked up tonight. He is one of the three fosters I took in, and the rescuers are going to come pick their 3 snakes up. Ahh down to 4 snakes(2 boas and 2 juvie corns) 1 gecko and a mouse breeding colony.
I did some searching and to me Ai looks like a cross between a Murrays and an Irian Jaya. Too much black on his back and not enough yellow to be a JCP, and too mottled markings to be a Costal (Plus he isnt that big- but supposedly he is a juvie. Hes grown a bunch in the past nearly 2 months, so I dont think he is full sized yet.) Most if the IJs Ive seen are more yellow/brown saddles- not black with creamy white in between them. But the pattern on the face is spot on for one, which is why several I talked to thought it may well be.
