im testing out my incubator and think i have it pretty dialed in. to get it perfect its time to figure out what i will use container wise and i had a couple questions.
i have a couple that may work
its a rubbermaid 6.5 q its 14.7 long 8.5 wide 5 tall. i dont know if these could hold a big clutch that was all stuck together so as a back up i have these

more squarer will be more suitable for a big ball o eggs, i think this one is air tight which brings me to my questions, do i want these containers air tight? or am i gonna be putting holes in these?
my next question is about light, using a wine fridge as an incubator is cool for me, i get to look in and see the eggs without actually opening the door, but is it cool for them? i mean are they(eggs) light sensitive at all? should i hang a sheet or something over the incubator?

6qt or 15qt tubs is all you need. Ball Python eggs arent small and 6qts im able to hold 9 eggs.

You will also need at least 2 inches of vermiculite, otherwise if too thin it dries faster

Lights wont harm them but with it being front glass, Id keep light off and just use a flash light to shine in to check.

so i should be able to use the tubs i have thats good. the first girl i have that will give eggs was a 1st timer so im not expecting a huge clutch out of her.
what about air holes? i just dont understand, should the container be airtight? if its airtight how will eggs/ hatchlings breathe?

You want minimal air flow in the tubs. Too much eggs will dry out and die.

Cold blooded reptiles dont breath much, so their oxygen requirements are low.
