Subject: Radiant heat panels, anybody use em ? Sat Oct 02, 2010 11:37 am
Just built a custom tank for my 3 BP's and the wood is too thick to have the flexwatt underneath. Trying to think of safe ways to have it inside the cage but then I came across 'radiant heat panels' and they look like a better way to go. Anyone here use them or have had any experience with them ?
money is not a factor here, I just want the best cage possible

RHP are mainly best used for Larger snakes. Look into Ultrtherms, their the same as flexwatt but waterproof.
I tape down a 11x17 ultratherm to bottom. Before taping it down i outline where i want ti and drill holes for ventilation. Then tape it down or use hot glue to seal it down. I then tile over it to cover the tape/hot glue.

i use 120 watt reptile basics rhp in my 6ft cages...i love them... i would use a rhp if your building your cages out of 3/4 wood because the heat tape has a hard time heading though the wood. they makes 40-160 watt rhp's
